AUDIO-VISUAL EXPERIENTIAL FILM
MULTIPLE LOCATIONS, 2023
An immersive experience harnessing the science of breathwork combined with emergent technologies to pioneer a new future of wellbeing.
Commissioned by Kinda Studios, Inspirit intends to facilitate an audio-visual connection, allowing for self-regulation and immersive stimulation through breath.
Designed from neuroaesthetics research of sound, visual art, and entrainment, audiences sync their breath to the rhythm of the piece.

Inspirit is a 20-minute digital audiovisual experience that uses spatial audio and various animation techniques that follow a set rhythm for users to follow, as a meditative way to follow their breath rate and ultimately influence their emotions, perception and understanding of themselves.
We intended to support and visualise the power that breath holds as one of the simplest tools to directly impact our physical and emotional state, providing an awareness of the self and therefore interoception to look ‘within’.
Combined with Nailah Hunter’s soundtrack, Inspirit aims to create an unspoken, tacit understanding between the audience’s own physicality and breath patterns.

Inspirit includes various phases that are aimed to energize and uplift, or restore and relax, which have been proven to reduce anxiety and increase embodiment.
The neuroscience of sound, rhythmic entrainment, immersive experiences and breathwork is well known, yet there are gaps in who, how and when individuals across groups can access this.
By blending established research with the creative experience, Inspirit provides a digital intervention designed to reach a wider audience, offering new ways to experience wellbeing - democratising immersive experiences and breathwork for more individuals.

In partnership with Goldsmiths University and the Kinda Lab, Inspirit has gone through iterative and final design testing proving its impact on reducing anxiety and improving vital well-being measures including recovery, regulation, regeneration and release.
Inspirit is available for licensing and has been delivered in various formats in multiple spaces including large cinematic experiences, gallery spaces and public settings.
