A tactile exploration of simulated inflations.
Soft Objects is a new series of sculptures representing moments of suspended animation, inflation, buoyancy and collapse.
The ‘phygital’ objects defy realism through trompe l’loeil surfaces, fuzzy texture and contrasting colour.
The collection is a set of decorative sculptures for the home, with each piece being individually hand-cast from plaster with a velvetine-flocked surface, maintaining a sense of uniqueness often lost through automated design, such as 3D printing.
